Ruby Lee Walker

Ruby Lee Walker, born on July 7, 1946, in Carlisle, MS, passed away peacefully on December 5, in Vicksburg, MS. Ruby was a dedicated and loving mother whose motto was family first, always and above all else. She leaves behind a legacy of strength, warmth, and unconditional love that will forever resonate within the hearts of those she cherished.

Ruby's warm and caring personality endeared her to many. She had a generous heart, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. Her kindness and compassion touched the lives of many, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of her. Her proudest accomplishment was meeting the love of her life, Fred Allen Walker, at a dance, which blossomed into a beautiful union when they wed in the summer of 1966. Together, they created a family filled with love and laughter.

Ruby is survived by her beloved children, Fred Allen Walker Jr. (Sarah), Robert Walker, Priscilla Walker Goldsberry (Y'Nassia), and Cedrick Amoh; her cherished grandchildren, Y'Tarius Goldsberry (Tanisha), I'Lexus Goldsberry, Keamber Goldsberry, Heaven'Lee Goldsberry, Faith Goldsberry, Charity Goldsberry, Cedrick Amoh Jr., and Kennedy Amoh; and her great-grandchildren, Morgan Goldsberry, Y'Tarius Goldsberry Jr., Caleah Amoh, and Chance Amoh. Ruby also held close her godson, Azarius Walker, and her loving siblings Tempt, Nora Lee, Ida, and Flora. In addition, she leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who will carry her memory forward.

Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Allen Walker; her mother, Hester Evans; her father, Tempt Curtis; and her siblings, Corrine, Bessie, Emma, Albert Ray, Issac, Catherine, and Mamie. The absence of her vibrant spirit creates a void that will be felt by all who knew and loved her.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Ruby's life on December 16, 2023, at Word of Faith Church, located at 3325 Wisconsin Avenue, Vicksburg, MS 39183. The funeral service will commence at 11:00 AM, with a gathering of loved ones to honor her remarkable life and enduring spirit.

Ruby Lee Walker may have left this world, but the indelible marks of her love, kindness, and joyful spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched.
