Rosman Daniels, a vibrant soul and beloved community member, was born on October 21, 1965, in New Orleans, Louisiana. His journey through life was one characterized by an unwavering commitment to uplifting others and spreading joy through music and mentorship.
For over 30 years, Rosman worked diligently at Hair 2000 in Pemberton Square Mall and various barber shops, connecting with countless individuals and leaving a lasting impression. Beyond his professional life, Rosman dedicated himself to the well-being of his community, volunteering and mentoring youth through his ministry at Belmont House and Marion Hill. His passion for bringing positive change to the lives of men and youth was matched only by his love for music. As the Minister of Music at Mount Zion #4, Eagle Lake Baptist Church, and the United Worship Center, Rosman shared his musical gifts, bridging hearts and minds through song.
Rosman had a unique ability to see the good in people and draw out their best qualities. This earnest approach to life allowed him to cultivate deep connections, which echoed throughout Mississippi in the stories he told and the love he shared. An avid reader and comic book collector, Rosman found joy in the simple pleasures of life, including his enthusiasm for television, movies, and sports. His heart served as a home for the Jacksonville Jaguars, New Orleans Saints, Kansas City Chiefs, and the New Orleans Pelicans, and discussions about his favorite teams often filled the air with laughter and camaraderie.
A remarkable testament to his character, Rosman found great fulfillment in volunteering at nursing homes such as Shady Lawn, Vicksburg Convalescent Home, and Heritage House. Even as he faced his own challenges, he devoted his time to healing others, demonstrating a profound sense of compassion and selflessness that inspired everyone around him.
Rosman departed this world on February 25, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love and resilience. He is remembered fondly by his partner, LaTosca Bryant, and his four sons: Rosman Lloyd Daniels, Jr. of Vicksburg, Keithen Hargro of Horn Lake, Fabian Lovett of Kansas City, and Caleb Bryant of Vicksburg. His daughter, Quinley Bryant Daniels of Vicksburg, along with his brother, Rainey Daniels of New Orleans, and six devoted sisters—Betty Jean Semi, Reba Denise McElroy, Amanda (Herman) Thomas, Andrea Daniels, Sharon (Larkin) Bates, and Carolyn Duree Andrew—will carry his spirit forward. He cherished the friendship of his sister-in-law, Pamela McElroy, and held a special place in his heart for Dr. Bonita “Jazz” Ordogne, affectionately referred to as his “special angel.”
Rosman was preceded in death by his loving parents, Reverend Horace Daniels, Jr. and Ivora Daniels. He will be warmly remembered alongside his five brothers – Horace “Ronnie” Daniels III, David Jonathan Daniels, Tony Carl McElroy, Carl Blue Daniels, and Mark Anthony McElroy – and his dear sister, Betty Ann Daniels. Additionally, he was preceded by his brother-in-law, Hector Andrew; sister-in-law, Cynthia Daniels; and two beloved nephews, Linwood Pooler and Michael Walls, all of whom were an essential part of his life’s tapestry.
A visitation in honor of Rosman will take place at C J Williams Mortuary Center in Vicksburg on March 8, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life at the Ardis Williams City Auditorium on March 9, 2025, beginning at 2:00 PM.
As we gather to celebrate Rosman’s life, we remember a true warrior of love who touched the hearts of many. His artistic storytelling, generous spirit, and passionate devotion to uplifting others will forever resonate in the lives he changed. Though he has left this earthly realm, the light he shared will shine on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all those fortunate enough to know him.
