Rodney Jerome Caples, born on September 1, 1967, entered eternal rest on April 17, 2024. Throughout his life, Rodney embodied the spirit of hard work and dedication. He many years employed at R.C. Matthews, where he honed his skill as a concrete finisher, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to his craft until illness prevented him from continuing.
Rodney's journey began at Kings Elementary School and later progressed through Warren High School, where he laid the foundation for a life with tenacity and resilience. He was a man of his word, always finishing what he started and keeping the promises he made, a testament to his integrity and character.
A lover of the great outdoors, Rodney found solace and joy in nature, often tending to his beloved garden, working on various projects, or casting his line at Two Rivers Lake. His passion for the earth mirrored his commitment to his family, which he cherished deeply. Rodney's role as a protector and provider was evident in every aspect of his life. He devoted himself to his mother and extended that love unconditionally to others, always ready to lend a hand or offer guidance in times of need.
Rodney’s legacy of love and compassion lives on through his family. He is survived by his one and only son, Charles Timothy Caples, and five beautiful and precious grandchildren—Miracle, Journei, Kensley, Caleb, and Trinity Caples—each of whom he adored with all his heart. The bonds of brotherhood remain strong, as he is lovingly remembered by his two brothers, Michael (Ann Marie) Caples and Patrick Caples. His sisters, Pamela (Joseph) Spicer, Patricia (Simon) Mitchell, Catherine (Simmy) Brooks, and Janey (Michael) Robinson, will forever hold him dear. A devoted nephew, Fontane Caples, and a loving niece, Lakeitha Carson, as well as a host of other family and friends, are left to cherish the memories he created and the love he shared.
Rodney was preceded in death by his siblings, Diane Caples, Charles (Renny) Caples, Barbara C. Roberts, and Timothy Caples, Sr., who welcomed him with open arms as he returned to them. As we remember Rodney Jerome Caples, let us celebrate a life well-lived, filled with laughter, hard work, and an endless devotion to those he loved. His spirit will remain with us, a guiding light in our lives, forever cherished and never forgotten.
