Richard Redale Bass, a member of the Vicksburg community, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2025, at the age of 44. Born on June 28, 1980, Richard was known for his dedication and hard work, most recently serving as a supervisor at International Paper Vicksburg Mill, where he was employed for nine years.
Richard received his education at South Park Elementary in Vicksburg, Denver Academy in Denver, Colorado, and later graduated from Vicksburg High School. His life was marked by a commitment to both his family and his career, and he leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness.
He is survived by his cherished wife, Patrice, and their three beloved children, Richard, Noah, and Mia. Richard is also survived by his mother, Rebecca Tribble; his stepfather, Tommie Tribble, both of Vicksburg; his sister, Marinita (Jeffery) Carroll; and Kiera Tribble of Dallas, Texas. He is remembered fondly by his extended family, which includes Asianna Scott and Richard L. Scott, III, both of Gary, Indiana; his grandmother, Imura Scott of Vicksburg; his godsister, Braylee Funches; and special big-sisters, Irene Davis and Claudia Scott. In addition, he leaves behind his nieces, Brianna Davis and Alexis Carroll; nephews, Brad Davis, Jr. and Christion Carroll; and a host of family and friends including the Scott, Bass, Austin, McCullum, Gardner, Cooper, and Benard families.
Richard was preceded in death by his father, Richard L. Scott, Jr.; his grandmothers, Florence McCullum and Georgia Mae Benard; and his grandfathers, Richard L. Scott, Sr. and Willie Gardner. Their enduring love and support will be felt in the hearts of all who knew him.
A visitation will be held in his honor on January 17, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at C J Williams Mortuary Center, located at 1625 Monroe Street, Vicksburg, MS 39180. A funeral service will follow on January 19, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the Ardis Williams City Auditorium, located at 901 Monroe Street, Vicksburg, MS 39180
Richard's warmth, strength, and passion for life will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
