Naomi Johnson, born on October 31, 1988, to Carla Johnson and Raymond (Hazel) Walker, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on January 8, 2023. She leaves a legacy of love and determination, remembered fondly by those she touched throughout her life.
A proud graduate of Warren Central High School, Naomi received her diploma in the class of 2005. She furthered her education at Jackson State University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting. Her pursuit of knowledge and academic achievement served as an inspiration to those around her.
Naomi was a dedicated employee with International Paper Company located in Redwood, Mississippi, where she made significant contributions until her unexpected illness. Her commitment to her work and her ability to balance her professional life with her personal responsibilities were truly admirable.
Naomi is survived by her three beautiful children, Joseph N. Brown III, Jayden Bailey, and Bailee Womack, all of Vicksburg, MS. She is also mourned by her beloved parents, Carla Johnson and Raymond (Hazel) Walker, both of Vicksburg, MS. Her maternal grandmother, Florence Johnson, a source of strength and wisdom in her life, along with her three sisters, Rebecca Johnson, Jasmine (Randy Jr.) Ford, and Shaniqua Butler, and her brother, Jarvis Walker, also cherish her memory.
Naomi’s wide circle of family and friends includes a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, cousins, and extended family, notably from the Johnson, Edmond, Buchanan, Lane, Walker, and Robinson families. Their shared memories will forever honor her spirit and kindness.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Robert and Mary Walker; her great-grandmother, Luvenia Ellis; and her brother, Delzione Johnson. Though they are no longer with us, their love and guidance remain in the hearts of all who knew Naomi.
A Celebration of Life honoring Naomi Johnson will take place on January 15, 2023, at Greater Grove Street M.B. Church in Vicksburg, MS. Family and friends are invited to join together to remember and celebrate the profound impact she had on her community and loved ones. The service will begin at 2:00 PM, concluding at 3:00 PM.
Naomi Johnson will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, her vivacious spirit, and her commitment to excellence in all aspects of her life. She will be dearly missed, but her legacy will endure in the countless lives she influenced.
