Michael Karl Smith, Jr.

Michael Karl Smith, Jr., a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend passed away on November 5, 2024, at the age of 47. Born on February 6, 1977, Michael's life was marked by his  faith and commitment to his family .

Michael is survived by his father, Michael K. Smith, Sr. (Sandra); his sister, LaShonda Moore; and his brother, Byron Smith (Cassandra Rankin Smith), all of Vicksburg, Mississippi. He also leaves behind a number of nieces and nephews and a host of extended family and friends, including the Shady Grove Baptist Church family, who cherished and supported him throughout his life.

Michael was preceded in death by his mother, Cozetta J. Smith, and his paternal grandparents, Charles E. Smith, Sr. and Clara Sims Smith. He was also preceded by his maternal grandparents, James and Ella Mae Jenkins, along with his uncles, James Jenkins and Charlie Jenkins, and his aunt, Geraldine Lewis.

Visitation will be held on November 13, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at C J Williams Mortuary Center, located at 1625 Monroe Street, Vicksburg, MS. The funeral service will take place the following day, November 14, 2024, at 11:00 AM, concluding at 12:30 PM at the same location.

Michael's warm spirit and dedication to his loved ones will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all whose lives he touched.
