Mark Anthony McElroy, born on September 24, 1961,to the late Rev. Horace Daniels, Jr. and the late Ivora Daniels  in New Orleans, Louisiana, passed away on September 20, 2024 Throughout his life, Mark demonstrated an unwavering spirit and a passion for creativity that was evident in all aspects of his existence. He was a devoted husband, a talented artist, and a fearless fighter, who proudly embraced his roles as a father and an entrepreneur. Known for his complex personality, he was a man who marched to the beat of his own drum, gaining popularity through his charisma, artistic talents, and unique ability to "make a dollar out of fifteen cents."

Mark's love for music was profound, with a special admiration for the work of Barry White. One of the moments that resonated deeply with him was the inspirational words of Bishop Paul S. Morton, which stayed with him even in his comatose state. His final message to those who loved him—“I’m the son of a Preacher man…I won’t be here long…but I will be alright”—will forever remain etched in the hearts of his family and friends.

He leaves to cherish his memories his loving and dedicated wife, Pamela McElroy; two sons, King McElroy and James McElroy, both residing in California; six daughters, Katiya Tribble and Leslie Tribble from Mississippi; Tyshell Zanders of Texas; Queen McElroy and Princess McElroy from California; and Shakayla Houston Jenkins of Georgia. Mark's legacy continues with six beloved grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, Rainey Daniels of New Orleans and Rosman Daniels, Sr. of Vicksburg, MS; and six sisters, Betty Jean Semi, Reba Denise McElroy, and Amanda (Herman) Thomas all from Vicksburg, MS; Andrea Daniels of Jackson, MS; Sharon (Larkin) Bates of California; and Carolyn Duree Andrew

of New Orleans, LA. Additionally, he leaves behind a host of other relatives and friends who will forever remember his impact on their lives.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers—Horace “Ronnie” Daniels III, Carl “Blue” Daniels, Tony McElroy, and David Jonathan Daniels; a sister, Betty Ann Daniels; a brother-in-law, Hector Andrew; a sister-in-law, Cynthia Daniels; and two nephews, Linwood Pooler and Michael Walls.

Visitation for Mark Anthony McElroy will take place on October 3, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at C J Williams Mortuary Center located at 1625 Monroe Street, Vicksburg, MS 39180. His Funeral Service will follow on October 4, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Zion Travelers Church, situated at 1701 Poplar Street, Vicksburg, MS 39183.

Mark Anthony McElroy leaves behind a rich tapestry of memories, love, and inspiration that will continue to resonate with all who were fortunate enough to know him. His life, though shortened, was full of fight, artistry, and an indomitable spirit that will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends.
