Lucille Williams, a cherished matriarch and devoted caretaker, departed from this world on April 12, 2025, at the age of 74. Born October 24, 1950, Lucille was a guiding light to her family and a source of unwavering love and support throughout her life.
Her career paths led her to become a caring nursing assistant and an office assistant, where she exemplified dedication and compassion in every role she undertook. Yet, it is the selfless nurturing of her family that remains her proudest accomplishment. Lucille dedicated her entire life to creating and cultivating a family that she loved unconditionally, impacting the lives of those around her in profound ways.
Lucille pursued her education with diligence, graduating from Rosa A. Temple High School and later achieving her degree from Olive Harvey College. Her steadfast commitment to personal growth mirrored the fervor with which she approached her role as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She leaves behind an illustrious legacy, including her beloved husband, Robert Lee Williams; her devoted daughter, Rhonda Battle; and her sons, Kevin Williams, Sr., and Reginald Williams. Lucille’s spirit will live on through her granddaughters, Briana Clark, Kazarria Williams, and Lakelyn Williams; her grandsons, Orion Williams, D’Anfernee Battle, Sr., Rashad Williams, and Kevin Williams, Jr.; as well as her great-granddaughter, Kamarre Clark, and great-grandsons, D’anfernee Battle, Jr., and Messiah Battle.
Lucille's life was not without its losses. She was preceded in death by her baby brother, Leon Gipson; her father, Alex Gipson, Sr.; her brothers, Alex Gipson, Jr., and Aaron Gipson; her mother, Mary Lou Gipson; and her nephew, Deshun Robinson. While these individuals may be gone, their memories will forever intertwine with the fabric of Lucille’s enduring legacy.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on April 17, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at Triumph Church, located at 136 Honeysuckle Ln, Vicksburg, MS, 39183. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of a venerable woman whose love and strength will continue to resonate within the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Lucille Williams will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her boundless love, and her unwavering devotion to her family. Her presence will be profoundly missed, but the impact of her life will forever remain a beacon of warmth and inspiration.
