Leona Pugh Robinson, born on March 30, 193, was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, whose life touched the hearts of many. She this world on January 27, 2023, leaving behind an enduring legacy of love compassion, and community service.

Leona dedicated a significant part of her life to her career at the Warren County Board of Supervisors, where she and admired for her unwavering commitment to her work and her dedication to the community she served. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Leona was a faithful member of the New Rock of Ages Church in Vicksburg, Mississippi. She joyfully served as a member of the church choir until her illness, pouring her heart into every note sung in worship.

Her vibrant spirit and warm personality radiated through her deep and unwavering connections with family and friends. Leona's loving heart will be cherished by her three sons: Bill Robinson of Vicksburg, MS; Richard Robinson of Jackson, MS; and Harold McWade, Jr. (Rena) of Clinton, MS. Her three daughters, Linda Pugh (Leon), Dorothy Robinson, and Tiffany Walker (Michael), all of Vicksburg, MS, will hold her memory dearly as they navigate life without her physical presence.

Leona was blessed with a family that thrived and grew under her loving care, including twelve grandchildren: Terrell Robinson, Makayla Walker, Dame Beard, Corbin Walker, Peyton Walker, A’Mirichael Goodman, and Michael Goodman, all from Vicksburg, MS; Jeremy Robinson (Latoya), Harold McWade III, and Tyrese McWade, all from Clinton, MS; Terrance Thompson (Adrianne) of Kileen, TX; and Latonya Heard of Chicago, IL. In addition, her life will be celebrated by her one goddaughter, April Jones of Vicksburg, MS, and her special cousin, Catherine Davis, also from Vicksburg.

Leona was the proud matriarch of a family that extends to 19 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren, creating an expansive circle of love that will continue to honor her memory. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marie Bowman and Ezikel Pugh of Vicksburg, MS, alongside her two sisters, Mary Flowers of Chicago, IL, and Dorothy Jones of Los Angeles, CA, as well as two brothers, Johnny Bowman of San Francisco, CA, and Fred Mitchell of Los Angeles, CA. The loss of her grandson, Johnathan Hicks of Vicksburg, MS, and her special aunt, Magnolia Gardner of Vicksburg, MS, cast a shadow over her family's heart, yet her memory will serve as a source of strength and comfort.

Friends and family are invited to come together to celebrate Leona’s remarkable life on February 4, 2023, at New Rock of Ages Baptist Church, located at 2944 Letitia Street, Vicksburg, MS. The service will commence at 2:00 PM and will last until 3:00 PM, allowing all those who loved Leona to honor her spirit in a ceremony filled with music, prayer, and shared memories.

Leona Pugh Robinson's legacy of love and community service will continue to inspire all whose lives she touched. Her remarkable journey may have ended, but her spirit will forever echo in the hearts and memories of her cherished family and friends.
