LaTonya Renae London, a cherished daughter, devoted mother, and beloved friend, passed away on 10, 2023, at age of 46 Born on December 8 1976, LaTonya touched the of many with her warm smile and spirit.
LaTonya was a proud graduate of Warren Central High School in 1995 She continued her education at Hinds Community College, where she earned an associate's degree in and later an associate's degree in nursing, demonstrating her commitment to nurturing and caring for others throughout her life.
She was known for her vibrant personality and her love of life. LaTonya enjoyed attending church and singing in the choir, where her passion for music shone bright. A fashionable woman at heart, she relished the joy of shopping and taking pictures, and dedicated time to pampering herself with stylish hair and nails. An avid supporter of the Dallas Cowboys, she balanced her fierce spirit with a tender devotion to her family and friends.
LaTonya leaves to cherish her loving memories: her son, Tyler Malik Mitchell; daughters, Ri’Kelle Satoria Nixon, De’Kayla London, and Nakaya London, all of Vicksburg, MS; and her godchildren, Jonathan Parker, Jr. of St. Louis, MO, Khyla Parker of Port Gibson, MS, and Chance Stewart. She is survived by her loving mother, Sarah London-Brown; her dedicated stepfather, Charley (Alma) Brown; and her brothers, Eddie London, Sr. of Vicksburg, MS, and Antonio (Laurie) Brown of Palm Coast, FL.
LaTonya also leaves behind an extensive family network, including uncles Tommy (Willie Mae) London, Eddie Charles (Sharon) London, Raymond London, Willie (Faye) Hunter, Jr., Tommie Lee (Lilly) Hunter, and David (Dora) Hunter; aunts Joann Parks, Mary Lee Williams, Gloria Thomas, Molly (Charles) Tubwell, Brenda (Sam) Wilson, Beverly (Edward) Gaskin, Cynthia Johnson, and Kathy Hunter; and her beloved nephews, Brittain Kistler and Eddie London, Jr.; nieces Brooke Kistler, Lailee Wells, and Eilee Wells.
Her legacy is further carried on by her great-aunts, Molly Holloway of Cleveland, OH, and Jenny Hill of Buffalo, NY, as well as a host of cousins and other relatives from the London, Hunter, Parks, Rush, Wilson, Price, Haggan, Brown, Johnson, Holloway, Hill, Lewis, and Thomas families. Additionally, LaTonya is remembered fondly by five special friends: Ella Taylor Curry, Stacy Watson, Yolanda Watson, LaShanna Green, and Michelle Johnson.
LaTonya was preceded in death by her father, Eddie Lee Hunter; brother, Christopher Darrell Thomas; maternal grandfather, Edgar London, Sr.; maternal grandmother, Rosetta London; paternal grandfather, Willie Hunter, Sr.; paternal grandmother, Elizabeth Hunter; uncles Edgar London, Jr., Michael London, Willie Gene Stewart, Leroy Hunter, and James Henry Hunter; and aunts Mary E. Stewart and Lorraine Hunter.
A Celebration of Life service will be held in her honor on January 21, 2023, at Greater Grove Street M. B. Church in Vicksburg, MS, commencing at 2:00 PM, with the service concluding at 3:00 PM. LaTonya Renae London will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, unwavering love for her family, and her profound joy for life. She forever remains in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know and love her.
