Jeanne Cooper Marie Cooper, affectionately known as "Wee Wee," was born on August 24, 1957, in Edwards, Mississippi. She graced this world for 66 years, leaving a legacy of love, dedication, and resilience before her transition on September 11, 2024, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi.
Growing up in a close-knit family, Jeanne was surrounded by and support. She graduated from Hinds AHS in 1975 and further pursued her ambition by earning a degree in Business Administration from Jackson State University. These early accomplishments were not just stepping stones; they reflected her commitment to education and the betterment of her community. Jeanne's passion culminated in a remarkable 33-year career with the Hinds County School District, where she made a significant impact on countless students, guiding them with her nurturing spirit and unwavering dedication.
Jeanne was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her only daughter, Ashley (Gerald) Bland, who cherished every moment spent with her. Jeanne also leaves behind her grandson, Cameron Kinnard, whose laughter and joy brought immense pride to her heart. Her legacy continues through her loving sisters, Alma (Sister Baby) Cooper-Donald and Marian (Bonnie) Cooper. Jeanne's family tree flourished with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, each holding a piece of her loving spirit.
As we remember Jeanne, we also acknowledge those who have gone before her. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, brothers Donald and Roosevelt Cooper, and sisters Carolyn Cooper, Gleneva Bruce, and Mineva Russum. The bonds they shared shaped her character and instilled in her the values she carried throughout her life.
A visitation in honor of Jeanne will be held on September 20, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at C J Williams Mortuary Center, located at 1625 Monroe Street, Vicksburg, MS. Friends and family will gather for a funeral service on September 21, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Greater Zion Travelers Missionary Baptist Church, 7501 Highway 27, Utica, MS.
Jeanne Cooper Marie Cooper lived her life with grace and an enduring love for those around her. Her warmth, wisdom, and boundless love will be remembered as the threads that wove her family close together. May she rest in eternal peace, embraced by the love of those she missed dearly.
