Henry “Mane” Brown, Jr. passed away on September 13, 2024 in his beloved hometown of Vicksburg, Mississippi. Born on June 1, 1952, he was the cherished son of the late Henry and Hester Brown, and the third of twelve children born into their loving family.
As a proud native of Vicksburg, Henry established deep roots in the community that shaped his character and values. His life was devoted to his family, and he leaves behind a legacy of love and togetherness. He is survived by his three sons: Donnell “Shug” Brown (Tameka), Terrance Henry “Terry” Brown (Monica), and Andre Rashad “Dre” Brown (Georgette), as well as his daughter, Dorothy Holmes, all of Chicago, Illinois. Henry's memories will be cherished by his grandchildren, including DaJanae, KeyShawn, DeShawn, NaShawn, Kathy, Nativa, Brionna, Kiro, Dream, Key’Lani, Layla Brown, Ganiyah, and Andre Brown, Jr.
Henry is also survived by his siblings: Elnora (Jimmy) Coates, Linda Kaye Brown, Janice Brown, Sharolyn Faye Young, Lee Dudley Brown, and Michael (Maple) Brown. Additionally, he leaves behind two uncles, Jack Brown, Jr. and Herman Williams, along with a wealth of relatives and friends, including the Andersons, Williams, Waltons, and Smith families, all of whom were touched by his warmth and kindness.
Henry was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Nate Lloyd. He was also predeceased by two sisters and three brothers: Andrea Brown Jackson, Pearlie Mae Brown Jones, John “Jake” Brown, Charlie Brown, and Floyd “Ray” Brown. Their spirits live on in the hearts of those who loved them.
The visitation for Henry will take place on September 20, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at C J Williams Mortuary Center located at 1625 Monroe Street, Vicksburg, MS. The funeral service will be held the following day, September 21, 2024, starting at 1:00 PM at Travelers Rest Baptist Church at 718 Bowmar Ave., Vicksburg, MS.
Henry “Mane” Brown, Jr. will be remembered for his unwavering strength, his love for family, and the countless lives he touched throughout his journey. He leaves behind a legacy of affection and resilience that will continue to resonate within the lives of all who knew him.
