Felisa Diana Jefferson, born on July 29, 1969, and treasured by all who knew her, departed this world on December 24, 2022. She was a beacon of light, known for her caring and giving spirit that touched the lives of many in her community. Felisa had a remarkable ability to lend a helping hand, always willing support anyone who welcomed her kindness.
Her life will be celebrated in a heartfelt ceremony on January 7, 2023, at the Greater Grove Street M. B. Church in Vicksburg, Mississippi, where friends and family will gather to honor her memory starting at 2:00 PM. The celebration will conclude at 3:00 PM, encapsulating the warmth and love Felisa brought into every room she entered.
Felisa is survived by her beloved children, La’Morris Jefferson and Da’Morris Jefferson, both of Vicksburg, MS. Her legacy continues through her six adoring grandchildren: Ethan Jefferson, Kerrington Jefferson, Harmony Williams, Malayiah Jefferson, Da’Moni Jefferson, and Da’Mir Jefferson, who carry forth her love and strength.
She leaves behind two loving brothers, Patrick Jefferson of Austin, TX, and Christopher (Dalenqua) Jefferson of Jacksonville, FL, as well as four devoted sisters: Tiffany (Sylvester) Walton of Milwaukee, WI, and Jacqueline Wright, Latarsha Singleton Fleming, and Patricia Singleton Mayes, all of Edwards, MS. Felisa was further blessed with ten aunts and two uncles who cherished her dearly, creating a tapestry of family that supported and uplifted one another throughout their lives.
Felisa’s godmother, Gwynnetha Jones of Ypsilanti, MI, stood as a figure of guidance and love in her life. Her close friendships with Dada Lee and Myra Kyle held a special place in her heart, offering her companionship and laughter. She also shared a unique bond with her special cousin, Garnet Jefferson, who was a constant source of support.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Della Jefferson, a heartbreaking loss that deepened the sorrow felt by her family. Also preceding her passing are her nephew, Andrew A. J. Hodges, Jr.; her cherished grandparents, Mary and Willie Earl Jefferson; and a great-aunt, Preavo Harris. Felisa’s extended family, including four aunts and four cousins, will forever remember her playful spirit and generous heart.
Felisa Diana Jefferson leaves behind not just family, but a legacy of compassion and warmth that will resonate within the hearts of those she touched. She will be profoundly missed but fondly remembered in stories shared, memories cherished, and love that transcends beyond this life.
