Evans Ardella Dickey, a beloved artist, sculptor, designer, and an avid collector and appreciator of life's many wonders, passed away on February 8, 2025, at the age of 71. Born on November 8, 1953, Evans left an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Throughout her life, Evans was not only dedicated to her craft but also to her community. She passionately volunteered at the Mostly African Market for many years until its closing, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and commitment. Her creative spirit flourished as a member and art teacher at Rose Hill M.B.C., where she inspired countless individuals until her illness sadly limited her ability to continue.
Evans is survived by her son, Anthony P. Dickey, her daughter, Chion Dickey, and her cherished grandson, Daryl F. Cosby Jr. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Peter C. Rucker and Juanita M. Rucker.
Evans Ardella Dickey will be remembered not only for her extraordinary talents and contributions but also for the warmth and love she shared with her family and community. Her artistry and passion will forever resonate in the hearts of those she touched.
