Earline Bunch, a luminous soul who graced the world with kindness and compassion, was born on February 6, 1947, and departed this life on December 10, 2023. She leaves behind a profound legacy, etched in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were privileged to know her.
Growing up, Earline attended Kings School Elementary, where her love for singing blossomed. Her voice filled not just the halls of her school, but resonated throughout her life as she continued to bring joy to others with her melodic spirit. A dedicated member of the Bunch Sisters, she was known for her unwavering support and immense love for her family. Her character shined brightly; she was the sweetest, kindest, most compassionate, and giving person anyone could ever meet, always ready to lend a helping hand or offer comforting words.
Earline's family was her everything. She leaves to cherish her beautiful memories: her seven daughters, Annette B. Scott of Grand Prairie, TX, Rachel (Melvin) Clark, Hope Bunch, Faith Bunch, Charity Bunch, Elaine Bunch, all of Vicksburg, and Arlene Bunch Boyd of Denver, Colorado; four sons, Ronny (Catinna) Bunch, Gregory Bunch, both of Vicksburg, Jonathan (Ruth) Bunch of Olive Branch, MS, and Michael (Kimberly) Bunch of Houston, TX; and two bonus daughters, Mattie “Ai” Reynolds and Shellon Y. Wilson, both of Vicksburg. She was embraced by the love of her three sisters, Mary Joan (W. L.) Burks, Loretta (James) Bunch, Hattie (J. D.) Hill, and three brothers, William (Marie) Bunch of Detroit, MI, Arvell (Janice) Bunch, and Robert Bunch, both of Vicksburg, MS. A nurturing matriarch, she is also cherished by 29 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren, along with a multitude of nieces, nephews, and cousins who hold her memory close to their hearts.
Earline's life was also touched by the loving memories of those who have passed. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Mary Bunch, as well as her maternal and paternal grandparents. Earline fondly remembered her fun-loving sister, Jerlean McFarland, and grieved for her beloved great-granddaughter, Dalonni Marie Anette Bunch. Other dearly departed family members included her hilarious nephew, Sgt. Clifton O. Cal Lumpkin, Jr., devoted son-in-law, Charles James Scott, loving sister-in-law, Senobia Faye Bunch, and dear cousin, Minister Robert Earl Bunch.
A Celebration of Life fittingly honoring Earline Bunch will be held on January 6, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Greater Grove Street M. B. Church, located at 2715 Alcorn Drive, Vicksburg, MS 39183. This gathering will serve as an opportunity for those who loved her to reflect on the light she brought into their lives and share their cherished memories.
In her departure, Earline leaves a profound void in the hearts of many, but her spirit will continue to guide and inspire all who knew her. Her legacy of love, laughter, and generosity will forever remain a part of countless lives.
