Donald Earl German, born on August 6, 1963, was a beloved member of his family and community. He passed away on November 2, 2024, leaving behind a legacy woven with love and laughter.
Don received his early education at Edwards Attendance Center and graduated from Hinds AHS in the Class of 1981. His dedication to learning continued throughout his life, reflecting the importance he placed on personal growth and education.
He is survived by his loving mother, Beatrice Hodge; his fiancé, Carrie Dee; his children, Myesha German, Justin German, and Aeneas Gilmer; as well as his stepchildren, Kenneth Dee, Regina Dee Johnson (Albert), and Richard Dee. Don also shared strong familial bonds with his brother, Anthony Hodge; and his step-siblings, Jennifer McFarland, Joseph McFarland, and Kenneth McFarland. His spirit lives on through his eleven grandchildren, who will carry forward the vibrant memories he created with them.
Among his close circle of friends, Abbie Johnson, Byron Griffin, and Leo Harris Jr. were cherished companions who brought joy and camaraderie to his life. He was surrounded by a network of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will remember him fondly.
Don was preceded in death by his father, Claude Johnson Jr.; his stepfather, Raymond Hodge; and his grandparents, Madie Kelker German, Ophelia Coverson Johnson, James A. German, and Claude Johnson Sr. He was also welcomed to rest by beloved relatives including his aunts, Willie Jean Pollard and Mary Singleton; special uncle, James Earl German; and stepbrother, Steve McFarland.
A Visitation in honor of Donald Earl German is scheduled for November 15, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at C J Williams Mortuary Center, located at 1625 Monroe Street, Vicksburg, MS 39180. This will be followed by a Celebration of Life on November 16, 2024, beginning at 11:00 AM, concluding at 12:30 PM, also at C J Williams Mortuary Center.
As family and friends gather to remember Don, they will celebrate a life devoted to love, deep connections, and the nurturing of relationships that will forever remain in their hearts.
