He is survived by his two sons, Columbus Neal III of Vicksburg, Mississippi, and Derrick K. Williams (Clarinda) of Blaine, Minnesota. Carl is also remembered by his two sisters, Betty Jean Smith of Vicksburg, Mississippi, and Mattie L. Daniels (Eddie) of Chicago, Illinois, as well as one sister-in-law, Annie Mae Houston of Vicksburg, Mississippi. His legacy continues through five grandchildren, one aunt, Barbara Williams of Vicksburg, Mississippi, and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends who cherish his memory.
Carl was preceded in death by his mother, Deloris Houston Wright; father, Clem Scott; grandmother, Mattie Lee Hunt; grandfather, James Houston Sr.; three brothers, Jesse Wells, McKinley Turner, and Ronnie Houston (Annie Mae); three sisters, Louelle Norfort (James), JoAnn Houston Martin (Steve), and Doris Boyd (Eddie Lee); and three brothers-in-law.
The profound impact Carl Everett Houston made through his service, love for his family, and dedication to his community will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
