Caleb Buddy Erves

Caleb Buddy Erves, born on September 16, 1958, in Vicksburg, MS, passed away on January 12, 2025. As a member of the Vicksburg community, Caleb was known for his self-employment endeavors, which reflected his hardworking spirit and dedication to providing for his loved ones.

Caleb's commitment to serving his country is highlighted by his military service in the armed forces, an experience that instilled in him a deep sense of honor and resilience.

He is survived by two  daughters, Curley Curry and Katrina Curry (Darius) of Vicksburg, MS; a bonus son, Demetric Curry (Wanda) of Lewisville, TX;  brothers, Lee Anthony Erves of Vicksburg, MS, and Dennis Erves of Fort Worth, TX;  sisters, Shirley Erves Kore (Erves) of Gaithersburg, MD, Mary Meeks of Vicksburg, MS, and Jessica Erves of Fort Worth, TX. His life was enriched by the companionship of three lifelong friends, Eddie Calvin and Cleveland Calvin of Vicksburg, MS, and Sandra Atkins of Vicksburg, MS. Additionally, he leaves behind thirteen grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and a vast circle of family and friends who will miss him dearly.

Caleb was preceded in death by his mother, Nora Mae Kelly Erves; his grandfather, John “Roe Buck” Kelly; his grandmother, Elnora Kelly; his brother, John H. Kelly; and his granddaughter, Cur’mya Curry. These family members will forever hold a special place in his heart.

Visitation services for Caleb  will be held at C J Williams Mortuary Center in Vicksburg, MS on January 24, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Caleb's family will be in attendance from 5:00 to 6:00 PM.

The funeral service will take place the following day, January 25, 2025, at the same location from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM, where loved ones can gather to honor and celebrate his life.

Caleb's legacy will live on through the countless memories created with those he cherished, and his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
