Angella Mason, affectionately known as Angie, was born on January 9, 1996, and departed this world on December 30, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and encouragement that resonates in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. A graduate of Warren Central High School, Class of 2010, Angie proudly earned a place on the National Technical Honor Society, showcasing her determination and commitment to personal growth.
She cherished the role of mother to her beloved daughters, Ja’Kieyah Kyann Mata and Amari-Jaye Mata, both of whom reside in Vicksburg, MS. Angie's nurturing spirit and unwavering support will forever be a guiding light in their lives. She is profoundly mourned by her mother, Jacqueline Mason Carter, and her father, Sean C. Mason Sr. Along with her parents, Angie leaves behind her dear sister, Shawnise (Mitchell) Lewis, and brothers Scott Deon Elzie and Sean (Kim) Mason Jr., all of whom are residents of Vicksburg.
Angie’s family, in all its depth and warmth, includes her cherished nieces, Jaylen Lewis and Makayla Elzie, and nephew Mitchell Lewis Jr. She also held dear the bonds with her uncles, Dewayne, Jermaine, Terrell Williams of Texas, Emanuel Elzie Sr. of Arizona, and her loving aunts Telisa Morris, Janita Willis, and Diane Hoye. The matriarch of the Mason family, Grandmother Angella J. Mason, along with paternal uncle Sylvester Cunningham, finds herself grieving the loss of a remarkable young woman who brought joy and love into their lives.
Though Angie’s journey has been cut short, her memory will live on, brightened by the joyful moments shared with her family and friends, filled with laughter and unconditional love. We remember Angie for her infectious smile and the way she made everyone feel valued and loved. Her legacy, carved through the precious memories and countless lives she touched, will be celebrated and cherished by many.
Angie was preceded in death by several family members who now stand together in spirit to welcome her home. She is survived by the fond memories of her maternal grandmother, Marian Joyce Elzie Williams, her grandfather George Williams, paternal grandfather Alfonso Mason, paternal great grandmother Atlanta Mason, and stepfather Rick Carter, all of whom provided a foundation of love and support throughout her life.
Visitation to celebrate Angie’s life will be held on January 11, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at C J Williams Mortuary Center in Vicksburg, MS. A Celebration of Life service is set for January 12, 2025, 2:00 PM at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church, 501 North Poplar Street.
